Where does the glass from the bottle bank
go?
Thick strands of glass start to stretch down
from the machine. These are cut into short lengths called gobs.
Each piece of glass drops down into a mould. This is the correct shape for
the bottle or jar that you wish to make.
A plunger is pushed down into the liquid glass.
Then air is blown into this hole to push the glass into the shape of the
mould. |
